Frequently asked questions
When will C2 Surveillance exit beta?
C2 Surveillance is planned to exit beta testing on October 31, 2022. Before that, users can test C2 Surveillance for free.
Users that subscribe before October 31, 2022 can enjoy early bird pricing.
C2 Surveillance is free until November 30, 2022. When will I be charged and do I still qualify for a 30-day free trial?
You can use C2 Surveillance for free until November 30, 2022 or until the end of your 30-day free trial (whichever comes last). If you do not cancel your subscription, your credit card will be charged for the first year of the plan(s) you selected during registration.
Users who choose to keep or register new subscriptions until December 31, 2022 qualify for introductory pricing. Discounted prices are valid for one year. Subscriptions start from the date of payment.
What is required to sign up for the free trial?
The requirements for the C2 Surveillance free trial are the following: Have Surveillance Station 9.0 official or above installed, have a Synology Account, and have a payment method added to your account.
Can I share footage with people without a Synology account?
The video sharing feature is coming soon. When it is available, users will be able to share recordings with anyone and restrict their access at any time. The shared video will be accessible until recordings are rotated according to users' subscription plan (7 days or 30 days).
How long does it take to upload surveillance footage to the cloud?
In a stable network environment, it only takes a few seconds for the camera recordings to be uploaded and stored.
Where are your cloud servers located?
Our cloud servers are located in Germany and the United States. Users are free to choose which of the servers their data is stored on.
Can I upload my own videos to C2 Surveillance?
No, only footage from paired cameras in Surveillance Station are uploaded to C2 Surveillance.
Are there upload limitations?
Fair use limits may be exceeded when stored streams are excessively high in bitrate or when events exceed four hours in length. In these cases, upload speeds will be capped. To remove the cap, we suggest you lower your camera bitrate or check your event detection settings to make sure they are configured properly and not triggering excessively. The restriction will be removed in one to two days upon correcting the excessive usage.
